LOFT INSULATION

loft insulation prices

Up to 25% of the heat lost in your home escapes through the roof. Having your loft Insulated up to the required recommended depth will help to prevent this heat loss and save you money on your heating bills. That’s an average £100 per year savings on your fuel bills.

Is my property suitable?

Before the loft installation can be done, you’ll need to clear your loft area but you can leave an area boarded for storage if you wish to. We can arrange for your loft to be cleared but this will involve an additional cost depending on the size and how much needs to be cleared.

If there is no access or access is restricted. There must be a hatch or other access point that one person can easily fit through. Loft height must be at least 1.2 mtrs.

If there are any pests such as wasps or bats, these will have to be removed beforehand.

We will arrange for a surveyor to carry out an assessment of your property to confirm that it is suitable for insulation. Once the surveyor has approved your property, an approved installer will carry out your loft insulation.

Installing loft insulationThe installers are all trained to the highest standards so whether you’re having loft insulation installed for the first time or having it topped up over existing insulation, the work will be carried out competently and with the minimum of disruption. The work usually takes 1-2 hours depending on the size of your property.

Why should I have it in my home?

The current recommended loft insulation depth is 270mm (11 inches), most homes only having only between 25 – 100mm. Having adequate loft insulation acts as a blanket, trapping heat from rising and escaping through badly insulated lofts. The insulation is rolled between the joists, and then may be applied in a second layer across the joists to prevent the cold bridge, which is created by the ceiling plaster board and each of the joists. Also included within the price of the loft insulation is the insulating of all pipes and any cold water tanks within the loft space to stop them freezing.
